ANNUAL REPORT 2022-2023
Learning gives creativity. Creativity leads to thinking. Thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes you great.
With much delight I present this 25 th Annual report which enumerates the labour of love, activities and achievements of the School during the academic year 2022- ‘23. With the blessings of Heavenly Inspiration Parumala Saint Gregorios and Founder Patron Late Lamented His Holiness Moran Mor Baselios Mathoma Mathews II Catholicose of the East, our progress has an upward trend and it is my pleasure to inform you that more and more parents flock to this temple of learning making Baselios Vidyanikethan as the first choice for their wards.
The progress of the school depends on the committed faculty, support of the administrative staff, sufficient resources, responsible students and indeed the cooperative parents. Above all we are lucky that we are enjoying the full support of a qualified, energetic and enthusiastic Manager, Rev. Fr. Kuriakose George.
RE-OPENING OF THE SCHOOL FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2022-23
With high expectations and academic dreams Baselians began their journey through the year 2022-‘23 on 1 st June 2022. The Manager and the Principal along with the staff welcomed the students back to a new academic year with a prayerful beginning that included various programmes at the school auditorium. The school blessing ceremony was held on 6 th June by Rev. Fr. Kuriakose George along with other priests.
A GLIMPSE OF THE ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The academic ability of Baselians was proved again with 100% success in the class X and XII Board Examination held in March 2022.
Abel Joy of Science stream and Anna Benny of Commerce stream emerged as the school toppers by securing 89% and 91% marks respectively in class XII and Adidev Suresh of Class X became the topper by securing 95% marks.
This year 23 students are preparing to appear for AISE and 10 students in AISCE. Our efforts, prayers and best wishes are always with them.
On 15 th August 2022 Baselian family assembled to the auditorium and honoured all the students of Class X and XII. Rev.Fr. Kuriakose George, the Manager of the school appreciated all students for their remarkable achievement and distributed mementos.

SCHOOL PARLIAMENT ELECTION AND INVESTITURE CEREMONY
For the selection of skilled and quality leaders, Meet the Candidate session was organized on 4 th July 2022. The School Election was held on 5 th July 2022 under the guidance of the Principal and the Department of Social Science where in the students of class V to XII casted their votes through ballet system.
Four houses have been formed for organizing various co-scholastic activities. On 13 th July 2022, the Investiture Ceremony was held. Rev.Fr. Kuriakose George vested powers to the newly elected office bearers and inaugurated the co-curricular activities of the school for the year 2022-23. Master Abel Philip Paul of Class XII, the Head Boy and Ameya Shibu of Class XII, The Head Girl along with Arts Club Secretary, Sports Captain, Games Captain, House Captains and Parliamentary leaders of various classes were honoured with badges and sashes by the Manager and the Principal.
TEACHERS EMPOWERMENT & TRAINING
Teachers should be updated because it is keep to success in the field of education. Teachers attended workshops and various training programmes to update themselves. They also attended the mandatory training session asper affiliation by- law of CBSE.
SEMINAR AND TRAINING PROGRAMMES
‘Life skills’ are important and CBSE introduced it in the curriculum too. To develop the ability to meet difficulties in life school arranged various life skill programmes. Training sessions, career guidance classes etc. were conducted for the students of all sections in order to motivate and equip them with various skills. Career guidance class
was organized for the students of Class XII, Students with special needs are identified by the class teachers and subject teachers. These students are then regularly counseled by the school wellness teacher.
DEPARTMENT WISE PROGRAMMES
English Department
Reading Day was observed on 19 th June and reading week from 9 th to 26 th . Students from different classes introduced different books and famous authors. All the language departments conducted Art integration activities for the students of class 5-11 in which the students exhibited their lessons through various art forms. They made a magazine that helped the students to identify famous writers. The students of class IX made newspaper with the programmes and events conducted in our school.
Malayalam Department conducted various programmes in connection with Reading Day which includes, Quiz competition based on famous authors, various programmes arranged in connection with Kerala Piravi ie, Malayali Manka , Malayali Mannan Competition – Speech based on the important art forms of Kerala and the Head of the Department of Malayalam delivered speech on importance of November 1 st.
Mathematics Department celebrated Mathematics Drawing Day on 12 th August and every student brought various drawings in connection with Mathematics and conducted exhibition. All were so eager to explain about their works.
Science Department conducted skit and rally upto Vettickal junction in connection with International Day against Drug Abuse on 27 th of June 2022. Classes I- XII participated in the programme and it was a great success. Poster making competition was conducted based on the theme ‘Say no to Drugs and Yes to Life . Sashtra Sahithya Parishad conducted Ottamthullal in the School Campus and everyone enjoyed it.
Sashtra Sahithya Parishad conducted a class on 29 th of July about Chandrayan . Students were so interested in the class and they clarified their doubts too.
World Ozone day was observed on 16 th September 2022. Students conducted a skit for the same and bad effects of depletion of ozone layer were also discussed.
International Science day was observed on 10 th November. Students were so thrilled and excited. They conducted a quiz about inventions, discovers etc. and the children in all fields we honoured them with certificates.
Social Science Department also conducted also conducted various programmes . In order to promote the postal development and making the students aware about the post office working system, the invitation letters of our Dayara Perunnal to the parents were written by students on postcards and posted the cards through Vettickal post office..
On 26 th November, we celebrated the Constitution day. Students of various classes spoke about the history of Indian Constitution and its importance.
Congratulations to all the teachers for taking too much effort in arranging various programmes for the development of our students.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY was celebrated on 21 st June 2022. A team of students under the direction of Yoga trainer , Mrs Maya M K conducted yoga demonstration at the school auditorium. Mrs. Maya M K delivered a speech about the importance of yoga to lead a healthy life.
76 th INDEPENDENCE DAY of our nation was celebrated on 15 th August 2022 at 9 am with great patriotic spirit. Rev.Fr.Kuriakose George hoisted the flag and Master Abel Philip Paul the Head Boy delivered the message of the day. Various programmes like March Past, Rally, Patriotic Song Competition (House Wise) etc. make the programme an amazing one.
TEACHER’S DAY
Baselians celebrated Teachers’ Day “Gurudakshina” 2022 on 5 th September with colourful activities. The students of class X took privilege of organizing the event. The event was inaugurated by our manager Rev. Fr. Kuriakose George . All the teachers were honoured with flowers , Gurudakshina and greeting cards made by the students. Various games were arranged for them by the students. Teachers performed dance, music and skit for the students. Teachers conducted the assembly with dedication.
KALOTSAV - 2022
To bring up the hidden talents of our students and to showcase their talents, the school promotes a lot of opportunities every year. The school level Arts Fest ‘TALENTIA’ 2022 was conducted on 16 th and 17 th August 2022. All the programmes were conducted house wise and winners were awarded with trophies and certificates along with house points. So the students are showing their team spirit through their talents too… Every day conducted class wise assembly for the students of Std II – XII and various opportunities were provided to them for developing and exhibiting the talents.
Around 56 students selected to CKSC Kalotsav and everyone was awarded with various grades and Akhil A of class VII bagged 1 st place in painting and he got an opportunity to participate in State Kalotsav held at Carmel CMI Public School.
SCIENCE FAIR
To nurture and develop scientific ideas and creativity in students we organize Art and Science Fair every year. This year it was on 22 nd September, which was inaugurated by our Manager Rev. Fr. Kuriakose George . Future scientists, skilled artists and dedicated mathematicians exhibited their skills and proved their knowledge with lot of enthusiasm. The art integrated projects by students of class IX - XII were appreciated by all.
CHILDREN’S DAY was celebrated colourfully. Students participated in different colourful programmes. A colourful rally was also conducted from school to Vettickal junction. Our teachers presented a value based comedy skit for entertaining the children on their special day.
CLUB ACTIVITIES
Club activities help to develop some specific skills in children that are crucial for their career. It also develops leadership skills in students. Inauguration of various clubs was held on 15 th July followed by Language Club programmes, Sanskrit 2022. Students from various classes performed skit ,dances etc.In addition to this we have other clubs like Art & craft, Stitching ,Zumba, Fitness, Garden (Vegetable & Flowering plants), Karate, Music, Dance, IT, Painting & Drawing, Cooking, Skating etc…once in a week .
KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten is the first opportunity for children to begin to understand that school is a place for learning and working.They will learn about sharing, taking turns, respecting the right of other’s and taking care of themselves.
We always encouraged a joyful atmosphere to our tiny tots. Playway methods of teaching and activity oriented learning methods have been followed in our KG section. This year several events and celebrations were conducted.We celebrated Father’s day on June 17 th. All the fathers of our kids attended the function and they were entertained by the cultural programme. We celebrated Doctor’s day on July 1st. Dr. Geetha visited the children and gave awareness about healthy life style and healthy food . On 22 nd July
Mango day was celebrated with colourful programmes. Students and teachers prepared variety of dishes using mango like mango shake, juice , chutney , pickles, cake, ice cream, toffee, halwa , puttu etc… On 2 nd September we celebrated Onam . Malayali Manka and Malayali mannan competition was the excellent among all. On 13 th September Grandparent’s day was celebrated. All Grandparents attended the function with colourful thought and peaceful mind and their grandchildren honoured them with flowers. All were so happy and we had arranged special programmes for the grand parents . On 26 th September Art exhibition competition was also conducted. Our children with the help of their parents displayed many extraordinary creative items. On 14 th November we celebrated Children’s day. Students were in Chachajis costume to show their love and respect to Nehruji.Fancy dress competition was held on the same day. On 21 st November celebrated Joy giving day. On that day our kids visited a Rehabilitation Centre and distributed cakes to the inmates and entertained by various Programmes. Christmas celebration was on 20 th December and our kids participated in Angel & Santa competition.
SPORTS AND GAMES
The Department of Physical Education planned various inter-house indoor and outdoor events throughout the year. We have conducted Interschool Football match and it was so interesting for the students, and their participation was excellent. We planned to conduct the Annual Sports Meet Sportivo- 2022 on 17 th and 18 th November. Unfortunately our Education trainer passed away in an accident on 5 th October when they were going to Ootty. So we couldn’t do any sports items afterwards. It was actually a tragedy of Baselios.
P T A
The School gives a lot of importance in maintaining relationship with parents. In every activities of the school, the parents are rendering selfless service and encourages us with their valuable suggestions. The Open House meeting permits the two way communication between Teachers and Parents providing a good platform for the face -to - face interaction regarding all the issues concerning the progress of the students. The Executive committee of PTA met various times this year and they were with us in all our happiness. Every year P T A is renouncing the three toppers from each classes 1 st. 2 nd, and 3 rd respectively by giving mementos, certificates and cash awards. An effective, informative and interesting class was organised by the school for our parents on 23 rd November. Mr.K.V.Anoopkumar consultant Psychologist, Wellness Hospital
Ernakulam led the class. The support and co-operation extended for the success of all the activities of the school are appreciated by all.
SCHOOL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
The effective functioning of the day to day activities of the school are efficient since SMC is constructed . Under the guidance and leadership of Rev.Fr.Kuriakose George , our manager and the member of CBSE School Management Association, Ernakulam District. It is constituted as per the direction given in the affiliation bye law of CBSE. The Committee expressed their satisfaction in the smooth functioning of the school and offered all the support in all the activities of the school.
OBITUARY
A sadness and sense of loss that results from the death of someone close is immeasurable. Amidst all our achievements we remain with painful heart. We the Baselian family witnessed the loss of six dear ones in 2022. Our beloved Physical Education Trainer Mr.Vishnu V K, Class XII students Anjana Ajith, Emmanual C S, and Class X students Criss Winterborn Thomas, Diya Rajesh and Elna Jose died in an accident. We honour and remember them and keep their memories afresh.
CONCLUSION
On this memorable occasion as we recount our success with pride and happiness, we wish to dedicate all our achievements to the efforts of a committed team called the Baselian Family. We humbly salute our visionary leaders of the past and great ones of the present and seek divine grace and blessings to guide us in all our future endeavors. On this special occasion I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our Manager, office suptd. and PTA President for the unconditional support and timely guidance extended to me for executing my responsibilities in a free and smooth way.
Finally offering thanks and praises to the heavenly faiths for his blessings, saint Parumala Thirumeni, the Heavenly Patron of our school for his constant intercession and protection.

We express boundless gratitude to Almighty God who guided us to this moment to make choices that bring glory to Him and for the divine intercession of St. Parumala Thirumeni in allowing me to experience the grace in many ways. We are also indebted to and humbled by the support given by the Manager very Rev. Fr. Adv. Kuriakose George and my colleagues including the school coordinators, HODs, teachers of various departments, non-teaching staff, and stakeholders for their contribution to the smooth running of the school.
Here we would like to showcase the comprehensive reflection of our school's journey, achievements, and milestones in this academic year 2025-2026. I am proud to say that four of my students – Jason John, Sneha Moly, Dharsh Krishna and Neha Subin from class 12 – will be joining me in presenting the school annual report.
REOPENING CEREMONY
The Grand Reopening Ceremony of this academic year, titled Espoir 2025, was held on June 4th. The spirit of learning was restarted, reconnected, and rekindled during the reopening ceremony. The event was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jossi Jacob, the Principal of St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur.
In the PTA general body meeting on that day, the manager and Principal addressed the gathering where the support and cooperation of the parent community was made sure. A PTA Executive was formed in the school with Mr. Vinod G, as PTA President and Mr. Shibu Abraham John, as PTA Secretary. The PTA Executive Members for the new academic year were elected in their respective classrooms. Open House meetings were conducted at regular intervals in the school to assess students performances.
EXAMINATIONS AND RESULTS
Like its previous years, the students of Baselios Vidyanikethan came out with flying colours in the CBSE Class X and XII Board Examinations.
Class X Examination
Among the 31 students who appeared for the Class X Examination, 23 students secured high distinction and 8 secured First Class, where Jennifer Laiju and Krishnaveni M M secured A1 in all subjects showcasing their outstanding academic performance.
Class XII CBSE Board Examination
In Class XII CBSE Board Examination, our students made us proud with 100% success in results with Devanandha Haneesh as the Science Stream topper and Justin Thomas as the topper in the Commerce Stream.
Examination Cell
The school congratulated all the students who performed exceptionally well in the Examination with certificates and mementos on the reopening day. A commendable part played by the Examination Cell in the school is worth notable in this regard. The systematic revision pattern followed by the school for all the classes helped them gain confidence in attempting examinations.
ENVIRONMENT & SPECIAL DAYS
ENVIRONMENT DAY
On World Environment Day, our school, in association with the Malankara orthodox Syrian church observed a wondeful event. His Holiness, The Catholicose of the Orthodox Church graced the day with his presence and planted a sapling in our school premises. students brought placards with slogans exhibiting their commitment to conserving and preserving Mother Nature. In collaboration with Balajanasakhyam, a sapling was also planted in the school premise.
READING DAY
The Reading Day Celebration was held on June 19. It was a joyous and enriching experience for all. It proclaimed the necessity of reading in a world of online media.
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
In connection with International Yoga Day, a mass Yoga Demonstration was organised in our school. The demonstration emphasized the need and importance of yoga in daily life.
ANTI-DRUG CAMPAIGN
In connection with International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the school conducted an anti-drug campaign in collaboration with the anti-drug cell of the orthodox Syrian church. His grace, mar Polycarpos and His grace mar Athanasius of our church graced the function with their presence.
"A rally was organized to spread the anti-drug message. Along with that, an awareness session on drug abuse was conducted in the school by students from Welcare College of Nursing. They discussed the harmful effects of drug abuse and it’s negative impact on one’s life. The awareness class was both enlightening and motivating.
SCHOOL PARLIAMENT ELECTION & INVESTITURE CEREMONY
Leaders have the capacity to translate a vision into reality. With such an objective, the School Parliament Election for this academic year was held in the month of July. The students from classes V to 12th cast their votes and elected their democratic leaders.
The Class Representatives of each class were selected by the students of each class. The investiture ceremony and official swearing-in of Office Bearers were conducted with great pomp. The Manager and Principal together pinned the badges to the elected Office Bearers and Class Representatives. The sashes and flags were handed over to the newly appointed student leaders, Captains, and Vice Captains, followed by the official signing of the Register.

The Steamy Delights 2025
With an aim to promote the health benefits of steamed food, the kindergarten section of our school has celebrated Steam Food Day on 16th July. The kindergarten students made the day truly special by bringing a steamed food of their choice. This activity turned the day into a fun-filled and learning-oriented experience. -
The Dome show: A Day of Discovery and Wonder
On, 28th July, our school organized an inspiring and intellectually stimulating 3D Planetarium Dome Show and Virtual Reality Experience., The highlight of the day was the captivating 360° Full Dome interactive show, which transported students on a journey through the wonders of the cosmos. Enhancing the experience further, the Virtual Reality segment provided students with an extraordinary opportunity to engage with space in an interactive manner. - The Arts Fest ‘Felicia 2025’- was a spectacular showcase of talent. The event highlighted the incredible skills of our students, with numerous events that left the audience in awe. It was truly a wonderful event, showcasing the diverse talents of our children. A wide range of programmes arranged for the students had helped them a lot in understanding and perceiving their hidden but innate talents.

Breakthrough Science Society Competitions
Our school proudly hosted the Breakthrough Science Society- Quiz, Essay Writing, and Painting Competition. The winners from each category have earned the honour of representing our school at the district-level competitions held at Sree Narayana vidyapeedam public school, Thrippunithura and secured medals and certificates. - The school celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation, which commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by our Principal. The part played by the school office bearers, teachers, non-teaching staff and parents on this occasion is also worth mentioning.
ESPERANZA CHAMPIONSHIP: ANOTHER MILESTONE IN BASELIAN SUCCESS JOURNEY
ESPERANZA 2025- Kinder Fiesta 2.0, was hosted at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, West Kochi, on 22nd August, witnessing enthusiastic participation from 7 schools and more than 100 students in 8 events.
From our school, 24 talented students showcased their skills and creativity in multiple competitions. Their consistent hard work and spirited performance earned the school 7 prizes, amassing a total of 48 points. With this remarkable achievement, our school proudly clinched the Overall Championship Trophy.

Onam Celebration
The Onam Celebration, Onaravam’2025 featured an array of cultural performances, outdoor games, traditional activities. The celebration was a grand event that truly embodied the spirit of unity and joy, making it a memorable experience for all.
Teachers’ Day Celebration
Teachers’ Day Celebration on 5th September witnessed the way students honour their teachers for their exemplary services and dedication showing gratitude to the guru’s teachings and guidance. The celebration was a lovely gesture to show appreciation and give back the love they so deserve.
Hindi Diwas
The school proudly observed Hindi Diwas on 15th September. The celebrations turned out to be a memorable occasion, successfully recreating the spirit of the past and reminding everyone of the rich cultural heritage that Hindi represents.
Invicta 2025
The school celebrated its 24thAnnual Sports meet ‘Invicta 2025’ on September 18th and 19th. The meet was a thrilling display of teamwork and sportsmanship, showcasing the true spirit of collaboration and healthy competition. It was an event that highlighted the importance of working together and striving for excellence.
Mamboov- Malayala bhasha prathibha pariksha
The CBSE Malayalam Teachers Skill Development Society conducted Mamboov- Malayala bhasha prathibha pariksha on September 27th. A total of 69 students participated in the exam, with 40 students securing A grade and 29 students securing B grade. Aagney Rajeev, Rohan C Bhaskar, Anusree S, and Niya P Vinu secured the highest marks in their respective categories and were awarded certificates and medals for their outstanding performance.
Gandhi Jayanti
On October 2nd, In connection with Gandhi Jayanti, the school observed a cleanliness drive and all the students from Classes I to XII along with the teachers and the nonteaching staff took part in the cleaning campaign.

Athletes Sprint to Victory with Medals at Central Kerala Sahodaya Sports Meet
Baselians once again proved their sporting excellence at the Sports Meet held at Carmel CMI Public School, Vazhakulam, scripting yet another golden chapter in the school’s athletic journey. Our young champions showcased outstanding grit, speed, and determination, bringing laurels to our school with an inspiring medal tally. - 🥈 Angel Sara Shaji (Class VII) – Silver in 400 mtr, Bronze in 100 mtr and 800 mtr events.

We are proud to announce that we once again proved our excellence by securing the 22nd position among more than 80 schools in the Central Kerala Sahodaya Kalotsav – SARGADHVANI 2025.

KINDERGARTEN & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Vegetable Day
Our Kindergarten section joyfully celebrated Vegetable Day on 22nd October to promote healthy eating habits and the importance of including vegetables in our daily diet. Through the awareness session, the children realized how important vegetables are for staying strong and healthy.
Kerala Piravi Day
The school commemorated Kerala Piravi Day with a vibrant cultural programs and inspiring speeches. The event encouraged students to connect with their rich history and heritage.
Children’s Day

Students visited silverstorm amusement park for a fun-filled day, fostering new friendships and learning experiences.
Class 8, 9, & Plus One
Explored Wagamon and Parunthumpara, enjoying nature's beauty and adventure activities.
Class 10 & Plus Two
Embarked on a three-day trip to Mysore and Coorg, exploring history, culture, and scenic landscapes.
All trips were a huge success, with students gaining valuable insights and creating wonderful memories.
BALAJANASAKHYAM EVER ROLLING TROPHY FOR THE THIRD TIME
From amongst 130 students from 11 schools under the Mulanthuruthy Union, Our school has made history by securing the third consecutive roaming trophy with an impressive 56 points! This outstanding achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of our teachers. Kudos to everyone involved!
ARTS AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION
The scientific, social, cultural and linguistic awareness of our students were demonstrated through the Arts and Science Exhibition ‘Genesis 2025’. The day witnessed enthusiastic participation of all the students in each category.
OUTREACH ACTIVITY
As part of Balajanasakhyam and Nallapadam Project of Malayala Manorama, the students and teachers of our school visited Mithram School and Rehabilitation Centre, Arakkunnam, on 4th December, in connection with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
A collection drive was conducted prior to the visit, and usable items contributed by students were handed over to the inmates. The programme featured cultural performances and meaningful interactions, during which students shared time, care, and empathy with the children of the centre.
The visit was a rewarding experience that reinforced the values of kindness and service among the students.
BEST BASELIAN
Baselios Vidyanikethan takes immense pride in presenting the esteemed Mar Gregorios Award for the Best Baselian each year. This honour is reserved for a student who demonstrates exceptional merit in academics and shines in various extracurricular domains.
It gives us great pleasure to announce that NEHA SUBIN M of Class XII was selected as the Best Baselian for this academic year. Her impressive academic record, remarkable participation in sports, games, and Arts Fest, along with her exemplary conduct and respectful attitude towards teachers and peers, have made her truly deserving of this recognition.
STUDENT DEVELOPMENT
- A motivational class was conducted for Class 10 and +2 students on December 16th to help them overcome the exam stress. The session aimed to boost their confidence and empower them to tackle exams with positivity and strength. It was a rejuvenating experience for the students, helping them face challenges.
- The Christmas Celebration ‘Chriselia’2025, showcased opulence in every detail. The students who dressed as Santas and Angels added colour to the whole event. The carol competition, Incarnation Skit and dances highlighted the day. The Dance and Music Party marked the grand finale of the celebration.
- Kochi Metro Sahodaya’s Talent Search Examination for this academic year took place on January 14th. A total of 170 students from our school participated in the exam and the winners of the previous year were felicitated in the assembly.

This year too, the school congratulated the peak performers in every class through the Star Performer Award for their overall performance in each month. Rising stars awards were also distributed to students who showed consistent improvement.
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Joel Mathew George of Class XI1 has advanced to grand finale of international online live speech contest organized by overseas residents malayalees association. The prestigious contest which saw the participation of 1658 students unfolded through multiple rounds and Joel grabbed the 4th positon with a trophy, certificate and a cash prize of Rupees 10,000.
ONLINE AND OFFLINE TEACHERS’ TRAINING PROGRAMMES
The training and orientation programmes given to the teachers play a huge and significant role in the growth and development of every institution. Our teachers too had taken part in various online and offline programmes organised by the CBSE, State and Central Govt. conducted at several venues and attended through different sites.
